Overview

Gilgit-Baltistan formerly known, as the Northern Areas is the northernmost territory of Pakistan. It borders the territory of Azad Kashmir to the south, the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the west, the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan to the north, the Xinjiang autonomous region of China to the east and northeast and the Indian controlled Jammu and Kashmir to the southeast.

Gilgit-Baltistan is an autonomous self-governing region that was established as a single administrative unit in 1970, formed by the amalgamation of the Gilgit Agency, the Baltistan region and the former princely states of Hunza and Nagar. It covers an area of 72,971 km² (28,174 mi²) and is highly mountainous. It has an estimated population approaching 1,000,000. Its capital city is Gilgit (population 216,760). Gilgit-Baltistan is home for the highest mountains, long glacier and beautiful villages and valleys.

Day 01: Islamabad

Arrival in Islamabad, our guide and driver will meet you at the international/domestic arrival of Islamabad international airport, or at your location, after meeting and greetings by our staff drive to the hotel in Islamabad.

Day 02: Islamabad – Chilas

Drive to Chilas via Karakorum highway OR visa Naran valley if Babusar pass is open. Arrive and chilas and transfer to the hotel.

Day 03: Chilas – Fairy Meadows

Drive to Raikot Brige and change to 4WD jeep for onward journey to Tatto village and start the 2 and half hours hike to Fairy Meadows, arrive and transfer to the wooden huts.

Day 04: Fairy Meadows / Nanga Parbat Base Camp

Day hike to Nanga Parbat Base Camp or to the viewpoint at Beyal camp, in the evening walk back to Fairy Meadows and enjoy the sunset over the reflection Lake.

Day 05: Fairy Meadows – Rama, Astore valley

Trek down to Tatto village and drive to Rama in Astore valley, arrive and explore around, visit Rama Lake

Day 06: Rama - Tasashing, Astore valley

Drive to Tarashing village, arrive and explore around

Day 07: Nanga Parbat Base camp (Rupal face)

Hike to Nanga Parbat base camp from Rupal side.

Day 08: Tasashing - Depsai Plains (Plateau)

Drive to Deosai plateau, en route explore the beautiful scenic villages of Astore valley, arrive at Deosai and explore around

Day 09: Deosai Plains - Skardu

Morning to explore around Deosai plateau, in the afternoon drive to Skardu town, en route stop at Satpara Lake and Manthal buddha rock, arrive in Skardu and transfer to the hotel

Day 10: Skardu - Shigar Valley - Khaplu

Drive to Khaplu, en route visit Skardu cold desert, Shigar valley and Shigar fort, arrive in Khaplu and visit Khaplu fort and Chaqchan mosque.

Day 11: Khaplu - Hushe Valley - Skardu

Day excursion to Hushe valley, en route explore Machulu village, arrive in Hushe and explore around, visit the old mosque and enjoy the scenic view of the beautiful Mashabrum peak! in the late afternoon drive to Skardu, arrive in Skardu.

Day 12: Skardu - Gilgit

Drive to Gilgit, en route visit upper Kachura Lake and Shangrila Lake

Day 13: Gilgit - Ghizar valley

Drive to Gupis in Ghizar valley, en route visit Kargah Buddha and stop for photography in the beauriful scenic villages along the way.

Day 14: Explore Ghizar valley

Day to explore Ghizar valley, visit Khalti Lake, Phandar Lake, Phandar valley and Shandur pass

Day 15: Ghizar valley - Passu / Ghulkin / Ghulkin (Gojal valley, upper Hunza)

Drive to Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin in Gojall valley, upper Hunza

Day 16: Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin

Day to explore around lower Gojal valley, visit Passu glacier, Borith lake, Passu suspension bridge, Ghulkin village, Gulmit old house and the village.

Day 17: Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin - Shimshal valley

Drive to one of the remote region in Pakistan "Shimshal valley" known as land of mountaineers, arrive and explore the valley.

Day 18: Shismahl Valley - Chipurson

Drive to another remote valley in the region which is bordering Pakistan with Afghanistan via the pamir mountain ranges. Arrive and explore the valley

Day 19: Chipurson Valley

Visit Baba Ghundi and explore the valley

Day 20: Chipurson - Khunjerab Pass - Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin

Drive back to Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin, en route visit Pak-China border "Khunerjab Pass" (Khunzerav) and the national park.

Day 21: Passu / Gulmit / Ghulkin - Karimabad

Drive to Karimabad, en route stop at Attabad Lake, Sacred rocks of Hunza, visit Hopper glacier in Hopper valley amd visit Ganisah village.

Day 22: Karimabad (central Hunza)

Day to explore around, visit Baltit Fort or Altit Fort, Channel walk and Karaimabad Local market.

Day 23: Karimabad – Besham

Drive back to Besham via Karakoram Highway, short stops en-route for lunch and photography, arrive and transfer to the hotel.

Day 24: Besham / Naran - Islamabad

Drive back to Islamabad, en-route visit Taxila museum and the world UNESCO heritage sites, arrive in Islamabad and explore the bazars!

Day 25: Fly to destination

Dpending on the flight time, if it is in the morning/noon we will drop you to the aiport before 3 hours of your flight. Or if it is in the evening/night, all day will be for exploring the twin city, visit Faisal mosque, Pakistan monument, Lok virsa museum, Saeedpur village. In the evening/night drive to the airport (our service ends here) and fly home!
